How this portal works

New here? This page is the online companion to your printed puzzle — it holds the hints and the full solution, so nothing is spoiled on paper.

    Find your puzzle code. It is printed on the puzzle you downloaded or bought — usually on the first page, next to this website's address.

    Type the code in the box. That opens your puzzle's own page, with its instructions, hints and solution. Capital letters are automatic — you can't get it wrong.

    Solve it on paper. Work the puzzle however you like. Nothing on this page changes while you do.

    Stuck? Take a hint. Flip on Show Hints and they appear one at a time, in order — so you only ever see as much help as you actually ask for.
  5. 5
    Enter your solution code. When you think you've cracked it, type the answer into the solution box to unlock the full explanation — and see how many hints it took you.
  6. 6
    Completely stuck? Reveal the answer under the solution box is there as a last resort. It asks you to confirm first, because there's no going back.
