24 Game
Use all four numbers once each, with any operations, to make 24.
⏱10–20 min🧠Easy🔢Numbers & Patterns🖨Printer Optional
How to play
- Use all four numbers, each exactly once.
- Combine them using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and brackets.
- Make the total equal 24.
Tips for solving it
None of these give anything away — they are just how people who do these all the time get unstuck.
- Look for a factor pair first: 4 and 6, 3 and 8, 2 and 12. Getting one half is most of the work.
- Every number must be used exactly once - no more, no fewer.
- Division is allowed and is often the key; do not rule out fractions along the way.
- Brackets change everything. Try grouping the numbers into two pairs and combining the results.
- If nothing works, subtract rather than add - 24 is often something big minus something small.
